The Best Paint Colors for A Modern Rustic Home

Choosing the perfect paint color can be tough! See how I used my favorite paint colors throughout my modern, rustic home.

I think my most asked question on Instagram these days is “what paint color is that?”!

So, I thought it’d be fun to put together a list of my favorite paint colors and how I’ve used them throughout my home.

If you’re anything like me when it comes to choosing the perfect paint color, it can be super frustrating.

There’ve been projects I’ve done where I’ve gone through 15 different paint samples before I finally landed on the right color.

My goal here is to help you avoid that and show you my tried and true paint colors.

Let’s dive in!

Snowbound

This is the color I’ve used in 80% of my home and I couldn’t love it more!

In my opinion, it’s the perfect crisp white.

Snowbound looks white on it’s own, but if you hold it up to a true white you may notice it has gray or greige undertones.

Snowbound isn’t a stark white…it’s a bit softer and I love that.

Repose Gray

I wanted something different in our dining room and bonus room and decided on Sherwin Williams Repose Gray.

This gorgeous gray has a taupe-ish base to it and it’s the gray I will always recommend!

It is a warmer gray but is so versatile and can be used just about anywhere.

Tricorn Black

Have I ever told you how much I love the color black?

I think every space in your home needs a little black for grounding and paint is always my favorite way to achieve that.

This shade is a true black with no strong undertones.

I’ve used it on my front door, shutters and even my bed!  To me, it’s the perfect shade of black.

Essex Green

I wanted something dark and moody for my husband’s office and after buying way too many samples, I finally decided on this gorgeous, moody green.

It’s rich and royal and makes such a statement!

We have since covered this color up to prepare for our new nursery but I sure loved it while it lasted.

Dark Bronzetone

I’m in love.

This is the new color we chose for the office-turned-nursery and it is absolutely stunning.

Although I don’t have an updated picture of this space (I’m still in the process of finalizing design details) I had to show you these walls, anyway.

This color was part of HGTV’s 2021 Color Collection of the Year and I see why.

It may just be my new favorite.

I hope this helps if you’re trying to decide on the perfect paint color for a room in your home.

I’ve always said, “the power of paint is a magical thing” and it really does have the ability to totally transform a space.
