Bringing Warmth to a New Build: A Kitchen Made to Last

Some projects hold a special place in my heart, and this one was no exception. Designing a kitchen for my cousin Lori and her husband Daniel in their custom home was an absolute honor. From the beginning, I envisioned a space that felt warm, timeless, and perfectly suited for the heart of their home. Shop the kitchen here.

I know you’ve been waiting for all the details, so I’ll list those first…but then let’s talk about this stunner of a kitchen.
PAINT: WALLS // ALABASTER BY SHERWIN WILLIAMS
CABINETS: STAIN // HUSK ON MAPLE
HARDWARE: TOP KNOBS // HONEY BRONZE
STONE: COUNTERS AND BACKSPLASH // TAJ MAHAL
BAR STOOLS: BIRCH LANE // COPLEY CANE STOOL
BACKSPLASH: TILE // COCO CANVASE MATTE

The cabinetry was fully custom, and we chose the stain color Husk…a rich, warm tone that adds so much depth and character. One of my biggest design decisions was a corner cabinet. It was a detail I kept picturing, and thanks to our talented cabinet maker, it came to life just as I had hoped.
The countertops had to be something special, and Taj Mahal Quartzite was the perfect choice. The soft, creamy tones with subtle veining create a natural beauty that ties the entire kitchen together. Seeing them installed was a major “wow” moment!
This kitchen is everything I hoped it would be…timeless, welcoming, and filled with details that make it feel like home.
