Check out how to make these designer dupe DIY Christmas ornaments using only joint compound and paint!

I found these old ornaments in the attic and had a crazy idea that I could transform them into designer dupes…

It worked!

Christmas crafts are my favorite and these ornaments were super easy and fun to make!

Keep reading for all of the details.

Material List for DIY Textured Ornaments:
  • Joint Compound
  • Ornaments
  • Paint
  • Paper Towel
  • Paint Brush
Step 1:

Cover each ornament in joint compound.

I smeared it on with a paint brush and then pressed a paper towel all over the ornament to create texture.

Step 2:

Spray paint a base coat on each ornament.

I used black, silver, gray, white and copper.

You can also hand paint the ornaments if you don’t want to use spray paint.

Step 3:

Grab a paint brush and get to painting!

I just used left over paint I found in the garage and started layering until I got the look I wanted.
